The Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom, James Cleverly was the guest of honor in the opening ceremony of the United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce in Tirana (BCCA), held at Western Balkan University (WBU). Also present at the ceremony were the United Kingdom Ambassador in Tirana, z. Alastair King-Smith, founding members of the Chamber and students from WBU.
“Every nation relies on its talented youth. That is why I say to you – business leaders and students – invest in this phenomenal country! Study here! It is wonderful that the first decisions of the Chamber of Commerce of the United Kingdom in Albania have been to offer scholarships to the Western Balkans University for students from the northern areas. Thank you for investing in the youth of Albania. They are the future worth every penny invested,” stated Cleverly.
The President of the Chamber of Commerce of the United Kingdom in Albania, Klodian Allajbeu, underlined that the Chamber of Commerce will play a key role in the intensification of trade relations between the two countries and will strongly support projects related to education to give more opportunities to young people to a better future:
“This chamber will pay special attention to the education sector by offering scholarships for young and talented Albanians to study in Albania and the United Kingdom, because we believe that education is the cornerstone of a modern economy and a sign hallmark of a prosperous society.”
Secretary Cleverly had a cordial meeting with a group of students who have benefited from the scholarship given by the Chamber of Commerce of the United Kingdom in Tirana.
